Heavy-duty steel ceiling grids for industrial plants, parking structures, tunnels, and fire-rated zones—providing A-class fire performance and impact resistance at economic cost points.
For the Dubai Metro Green Line underground stations, we supplied a combined aluminum-steel ceiling system where the visible center span used aluminum baffles (for aesthetics and acoustic absorption) but the side wall sections—prone to maintenance crew impact from equipment handling—used 2.0mm steel with a high-build epoxy coating. The steel sections were designed to survive repeated impacts from 50kg maintenance carts at 5km/h without deformation. For a highway tunnel in Oman, the client needed a ceiling system that could withstand a 500kg concrete spall falling from 8 meters height. Our 4mm steel ceiling system with cross-bracing and backup safety netting passed the full-scale impact test per EN 14487. The engineering also included access hatches at 10-meter intervals for inspection crews.
