E Expert Experience

For a 2MWh C&I energy storage project in coastal Saudi Arabia, the client had failed twice with competitors' enclosures—the marine environment caused salt corrosion within 18 months, and thermal imaging revealed hotspots above 85°C during peak discharge. Our solution: 3mm thick AA5052-H32 aluminum (specific for marine environments) with a 5-stage surface treatment: alkaline cleaning → chromium-free conversion → epoxy primer → PU topcoat → silicone gasket. Thermal management used a passive convection design with computational fluid dynamics (CFD) optimized internal air channels, keeping peak temperatures below 55°C even at 45°C ambient. IP67 sealing used Viton fluoroelastomer gaskets rather than standard EPDM (Viton survives long-term UV and salt spray exposure that destroys EPDM). The first installation has now operated for 4 years without any sealing or corrosion failures.
